My Top 5 Reasons For Visiting Ayia Napa This Summer

Category : Travel

Here are my top 5 reasons to why you should book your holiday in Ayia Napa next summer.

To enjoy Ayia Napa’s great nightlife, fabulous bars and restaurants; but also because it has a lovely city and flourishing holiday resort. The huge stretch of golden beaches, with cool Mediterranean Sea, makes a perfect setting for sun bathing.

Argument 1: The busy harbor front is dotted with some of the finest bars and restaurants, which allows one to relax and enjoy a beer while watching the boats reach. The Ayia Napa harbor has a small fleet of fishing boats, so if one is a mood to have fresh sea food, there is always the option open. One can avail of the services of the boats to have a trip around the sea, or even hire a catamaran and sail around the open sea. For those who want to watch the sea life, the option of hiring a semi Submersible – yellow submarine is always there. These are quit reasonable priced.

Argument 2: Another must visit destination is the Nissi beach that is about 2 Kms alongside the coast from the Ayia Napa harbor region. Nissi Beach is famous for being one of the most sexy beaches in the Med. One has the option of taking a short bus ride or even takes a relaxed move. The path along the main route is lined with bars and shops. The Nisi beach region is just about a resort with an attractive golden beach facade by a number of restaurants, bars and shops. There is plenty of activity available to attract the youngsters such as bungee jumping and water sports. One more wonderful event, which is hosted often here, is known as foam party it is a great enjoyment for every age group.

Argument 3: Fancy a bit of adrenaline and thrill seeking during your holiday? -The Ayia Napa Water Park is another major attraction; it has succeeded many major European awards for security and is the most popular and the largest in entire Europe. The park is efficient, clean and well organized. The staff is very professional and curious, and the games available are amazing. They give an exhausting and fun filled day out for old or young alike. There is great for all age groups from kids to toughened water park freaks.

Argument 4: -The most famous reason for Ayia Napa popularity is its legendary nightlife. And also the famous clubs like seignior frogs and the ministry of sound. One must visit the “the square” that is house of almost top clubs and can party till early morning, and later have breakfast in any cafe bars around the district.

Argument 5: Finally, for the mountaineering lover there is the very attractive Kyrenia mountain series also known as Five Finger Mountains that you can see parallel to the coast line. The entire mountain series 130km long but because of it being so slim, the entire range calculates near about 260 sq Km. The concerto of the series is mostly marble and dolomite, limestone, and you will be capable of raise some of them as souvenirs.

3 Important Things I Have Learned About Ayia Napa

Category : Travel

The beach is filled with young women in tiny bikinis displaying their tanned flesh, the music is pumping from the beach bars and the time on my watch is only 11 AM. I am taking my third can of Pepsi from my ice-bag and tell to myself: “This is the good life.”

Ayia Napa is the premier seaside resort of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. Over 50 hotels and hundreds of restaurants and pubs are located in the former fishing village that became a resort in the 1980s. The majority of the 2.5 million annual tourists who visit Cyprus go to Ayia Napa or the neighbor resorts of Fig Tree Bay and Protaras.

The golden beaches are just one of the reasons for the rise of tourism in Ayia Napa. The other and most important reason for tourism development is the conflict between Cyprus and Turkey which made the seaside 40 km north of Ayia Napa a wasteland occupied by the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus. Suddenly all the tourist development at the beaches in the north had to move south, and Ayia Napa was deemed the best location.

My friends back in the UK often refer to me as Mister Ice Cold Napa. The reason is that I run an ice cream bar in Ayia Napa. I chose to settle in Ayia Napa because it is the most lively holiday resort in Cyprus. When I say “lively”, other people say “drunken and rowdy.” But that’s just the few bar streets in the months of July and August. The rest of the year the resort is pretty pretty quiet. Ayia Napa is also used by pensioners and families with children, so no worries.

Enough of all the general info about Cyprus and the resort. My life as an ice cream bar owner in Ayia Napa has learned me three specific and important things which I want to pass on to you:

1. You only have to be 17 years old to buy beer in Cyprus, hence the Swedish girls populate the place.

The not so strict alcohol laws in Cyprus (compared to rest of Europe) makes it a popular place for teenagers to drink and have fun during the summer. That’s probably why we see so many young Scandinavian people here.

When they come to my ice cream bar, most of them prefer vanilla and lemon ice creams.

2. The Russians are everywhere.

You may not see so many Russians in Ayia Napa, but their money is helping out running several restaurants and night clubs. And a few strip joints as well. If you go to a strip club in Ayia Napa you will always lose more money than you think (Important lesson learned for me).

3. Tired of the music at Nissi Beach? Walk 500 metres and go to Golden Beach.

If you are staying in Napa for 14 days you will get tired of the constant loud music at Nissi, I advise my friends to head over to the neighbour beach of Golden beach for some relaxation in the sand.

The ice cream bar owner also runs a honest Ayia Napa travel guide which shows you all the little dirty secrets of the resort. He thinks that a vacation in Ayia Napa is money far well more spent than a city break in cities like Istanbul or Tel-Aviv.
