Faro in Portugal is New Favourite With UK Travellers

Travel

Car hire company Rhino has recently seen car hire bookings for Faro in Portugal overtake those of the Costa del Sol in Spain, which was previously their most popular rental point.

Most of the bookings have come from UK tourists who are still trying to shake off the effects of a miserable winter and are looking for some holiday sunshine. Faro, which is a seaside city located in the south of Portugal, seems to be the new favourite among these British tourists, which is no wonder as it has so much to offer. IPod Car Adapters Make Any Trip More Enjoyable and Relaxing

Travel

iPod car adapters make it so easy for you to listen to the tunes you love no matter where you go. People love their iPods, and now you can listen to your favorite songs directly from your car’s stereo speakers! With three types to choose from, you can rest assured that even if your car is an older vehicle, you will likely be able to listen to those tunes you love most.

Long trips on the road tend to get monotonous, particularly when you are forced to listen to the same old songs over and over – or you lose the station completely. With iPod car adapters, not only can you rock to your favorite tunes, your travel companions can rock right along with you! What you will not miss is the static and interference you often get with radio stations, and forget about searching for a new station when you cross in to a different state!

Today, people expect their music on demand. iPod car adapters let you listen to exactly the artist or tunes you want when you want them. You can expect clear, exceptional sound with no commercial or deejay interruptions. The built-in jack produces exceptional quality sound, and many newer cars today come equipped with this feature. However, not to worry if your car isn’t equipped – a built-in jack can be installed so that you can still enjoy your tunes.

Wireless iPod car adapters let you listen to high-quality sound directly through the channels of your car radio station. If you live in an area that isn’t overwhelmed with radio stations, this type offers exceptional sound by simply locating FM stations that are not being used. If you can find a station that is in between two other unoccupied stations, you have it made – no built-in jack required.

Wireless iPod car adapters offer full charging ability, so your batteries remain charged at all times. The sound quality is crystal clear, even if you drive for thousands of miles. This is another benefit of this wonderful invention; no matter where you go, you never experience static or lose your music.

If you are like many and live on a tight budget or have an older model car that came equipped with a cassette player, iPod car adapters are also available to meet your needs. A cassette adapter hooks directly in to your iPod and the cassette play in your car. While the sound quality may not be quite as awesome, it’s a great deal for those who don’t have much money to spend but still want to enjoy their own favorite tunes!

As with many products, you get what you pay for. With iPod car adapters, the less you spend the bigger the chance you may experience interference from radio stations with strong frequencies. Also, some models are super easy to install while others require a bit more technical ability. All in all, the money you spend on will be well worth it, especially if you are someone who is a true music buff.

Gatwick Airport Looking Forward to a Better Year.

Travel

Gatwick airport has unveiled plans for the new year with a drive to increase passenger traffic on the cards. The airport is recovering well from the global financial crisis according to its chief executive officer. Although Gatwick suffered from decreased passenger traffic like all other airports in 2008, the final month of 2009 heralded better news.

In fact there was an increase of one and a half per cent in the number of travellers going through Gatwick airport in December 2009, when 2.1 million people used Gatwick, compared to December 2008. However this is still down overall by 5.3 per cent with 32.37 million passengers counted in 2009.

Gatwick Airport’s CEO Stewart Wingate said: “I’m pleased to end the year with a third consecutive month of growth in passenger numbers. This demonstrates that Gatwick Airport is recovering well from the economic downturn. He added: “Overall annual passenger numbers were lower than in 2008. But the newly independent Gatwick Airport is competing strongly. We aim to become the airport of choice for passengers and airlines this year and beyond.”

There is news that South Korea’s National Pension Service is planning to buy a £100m stake in Gatwick airport. The move is designed to increase their investment options and would amount to a 12% stake in the airport. South Korea’s National Pension Service is the fifth largest pension fund in the world. It has more than $200bn worth of assets and is looking to further diversify them. Last year Gatwick airport was bought from BAA by a private equity fund which included General Electric and Credit Suisse.

Although Gatwick airport was one of the many UK airports to be affected adversely by bad weather and the threatened BA strike last Christmas, passengers who are stuck in the terminal can make the best of a bad situation. There are many deals to be found on shopping and car parking at Gatwick airport. There are many on-line airport parking companies where you can pre-book your airport parking for as little as £3 per day in a fully secured environment. The sooner in advance you are able to book the better the savings there are. Shopping for money at the airport is also worthwhile, but only if you order the currency online before you arrive.

Duty free shopping for expensive products can still be cheaper than ordering online and you have the added benefit of actually seeing what you are buying. Dixons is currently guaranteeing to beat its online prices at any of its airport stores including Gatwick airport. Cosmetics can also be attractively priced. Neither is it a bad deal to pay for an airport lounge. Although it costs about £13, for this price you get free internet access, food, newspapers and drinks.

In other Gatwick airport news an anti-slavery charity has been targeting the airport for protests about human trafficking. Stop UK will work with the Sussex police and the UK Border Agency to raise awareness about this problem. Stop UK patron, Lord Carlile of Berriew QC, said: “The continuation of these schemes for the protection of the public and especially for vulnerable men and women remain vital.”

Robert Frishe wrote this article for www.carsforhireuk.co.uk. The company has a selection of cheap hire car Gatwick including hatchback, convertible, 4×4 and economy cars available to hire from Gatwick Airport. Pre-booking will save you money and guarantees the vehicle is ready for your arrival.
