Tips on Timing for the Perfect Trip or Vacation

Travel

Everyone can use a vacation to relax, unwind, and have some fun. The problem with taking a vacation is that many people have a difficult time coming up with the cash to pay for the trip. Fortunately, there are ways to have an affordable vacation and not go broke. One important way of getting a cheap vacation is picking the best time to take the vacation. Below are a number of tips on picking the best time for the perfect trip or vacation:

1. If you want to save money on your flight ticket, it is important to consider the time when you want to fly. The key is to be flexible when considering the time to fly, For instance, do you want to fly during the peak season, off season, or weekend or midweek? Prices will vary according to the time you pick to fly.

2. Peak season is the most expensive time to fly so if you want to save money, book as early as possible. Holidays are a very expensive time to book because there are few discounts, promotions and deals. Plan well in advance to ensure you get a good deal and a good seat.

3. Consider when and where you want to travel. If you are willing to modify travel dates and consider a travel destination that is much less expensive to visit, you will save a lot of money. If you are planning a family reunion, consider planning the event during shoulder season or the off season. As well, the summer and fall are good times of the year to get a cheap international flight. Reconsidering when and where you want to travel will amount to substantial savings.

4. If warm tropical destinations are your favorite places to travel, consider traveling during the off season. You will still be able to enjoy gorgeous beaches, fun recreational activities, and beautiful weather, but there will be fewer visitors so attractions and beaches will be less crowded. As well, flights and accommodations will be much cheaper.

5. Ski vacations are very popular. If you are a skier looking for a cheap ski vacation, consider traveling prior to, or just after the peak season. It will be less crowded on the slopes and flights, accommodations, and restaurants will have a variety of special discounts and promotions.

6. The shoulder season is a good time to travel as you will save money. The shoulder season is the period between the low and high season. There will be substantial saving offers such as discounts on flights and accommodations. For instance, Mexico is a great place to travel during the shoulder season. The weather is still great and the savings are even greater.

7. When looking to save money on trips throughout the year, sign up for online travel website update newsletters and check local newspapers for special offers advertised by travel agencies. You will often find great deals.

2010 World Cup Packages to South Africa

Travel

Though the event is due to be broadcast live in 3D for the first time, there is nothing like being up close and personal with the world’s greatest football show. As such, it could well be time to take advantage of one of the 2010 World Cup packages that are available.

The World Cup coming to the African continent for the first time in the competition’s history is hugely exciting and, no matter what team you are supporting, there are packages to suit. Though the football is all important of course, they also give you a great opportunity to explore the wonder South African country and culture.

The packages available across the internet are many and varied, but they all tend to follow to the same sort of routine. They will include all flights and quite often transfers if needed, will cover accommodation and have a host for the duration of the stay. Most importantly of all of course, they will include the ticket to the match of your choice.

This is for the most basic of packages of course, for just the one match at the group stage. There are more 2010 World Cup packages available of course; going right from the start to the final, but the cost will obviously rise considerably.

There may also be restrictions on certain packages, depending upon what country you are booking from and which matches you are wanting to see. FIFA have put tough restrictions on the sale of match tickets for this event, so freedom of selecting matches cannot always be guaranteed.

Many of the top packages available also include fantastic excursions in areas of interest local to the stadia where the match is due to play. One of the most popular types are those that include safaris in the amazing parks. However, for a real treat, seeing the morning migration of wildebeest from a hot air balloon is something not to be missed.

Booking of the 2010 World Cup Packages can be done quite easily, with many operators. However, such are the restrictions; the process can take a little time. There is a crackdown on ticket touting in this year’s completion, so identities will need to be verified.

Prices are quite high of course, but do vary from package to package of course. However, they do offer what will for most be a once in a lifetime opportunity, and a chance to really soak up the atmosphere of one of the best sporting events the world hosts.

When looking online, though it will be tempting to look for the cheapest available, caution should certainly be exercised. Though tighter rules exist over ticket allocation, there are no guarantees that they will stop all confidence tricksters of course. As such, it is wise to go with a name you know, or have certainly heard about.

Booking your 2010 World Cup Packages with a reputable operator, that is accredited and protected within your own country will not just make for a safe and pleasant trip; but allow you to enjoy all the action without worry.

Book your 2010 World Cup packages from the industry leader in sports travel. Providing 2010 World Cup travel for soccer tickets, hotels, preferred seating and more. Also offering 2012 summer Olympics packages.

3 Important Things I Have Learned About Ayia Napa

Travel

The beach is filled with young women in tiny bikinis displaying their tanned flesh, the music is pumping from the beach bars and the time on my watch is only 11 AM. I am taking my third can of Pepsi from my ice-bag and tell to myself: “This is the good life.”

Ayia Napa is the premier seaside resort of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. Over 50 hotels and hundreds of restaurants and pubs are located in the former fishing village that became a resort in the 1980s. The majority of the 2.5 million annual tourists who visit Cyprus go to Ayia Napa or the neighbor resorts of Fig Tree Bay and Protaras.

The golden beaches are just one of the reasons for the rise of tourism in Ayia Napa. The other and most important reason for tourism development is the conflict between Cyprus and Turkey which made the seaside 40 km north of Ayia Napa a wasteland occupied by the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus. Suddenly all the tourist development at the beaches in the north had to move south, and Ayia Napa was deemed the best location.

My friends back in the UK often refer to me as Mister Ice Cold Napa. The reason is that I run an ice cream bar in Ayia Napa. I chose to settle in Ayia Napa because it is the most lively holiday resort in Cyprus. When I say “lively”, other people say “drunken and rowdy.” But that’s just the few bar streets in the months of July and August. The rest of the year the resort is pretty pretty quiet. Ayia Napa is also used by pensioners and families with children, so no worries.

Enough of all the general info about Cyprus and the resort. My life as an ice cream bar owner in Ayia Napa has learned me three specific and important things which I want to pass on to you:

1. You only have to be 17 years old to buy beer in Cyprus, hence the Swedish girls populate the place.

The not so strict alcohol laws in Cyprus (compared to rest of Europe) makes it a popular place for teenagers to drink and have fun during the summer. That’s probably why we see so many young Scandinavian people here.

When they come to my ice cream bar, most of them prefer vanilla and lemon ice creams.

2. The Russians are everywhere.

You may not see so many Russians in Ayia Napa, but their money is helping out running several restaurants and night clubs. And a few strip joints as well. If you go to a strip club in Ayia Napa you will always lose more money than you think (Important lesson learned for me).

3. Tired of the music at Nissi Beach? Walk 500 metres and go to Golden Beach.

If you are staying in Napa for 14 days you will get tired of the constant loud music at Nissi, I advise my friends to head over to the neighbour beach of Golden beach for some relaxation in the sand.

The ice cream bar owner also runs a honest Ayia Napa travel guide which shows you all the little dirty secrets of the resort. He thinks that a vacation in Ayia Napa is money far well more spent than a city break in cities like Istanbul or Tel-Aviv.
