All Travel Guide & Holiday Tips : Travel

Mallorca is the biggest of the Balearic Islands and many would say the most excellent island to spend a nice holiday. Mallorca can be an incredible destination for people from all walks of life as it offers several tourist-friendly resorts like Cala San Vicence or Puerto Pollensa that are situated near sandy beaches that have safe, shallow waters along with excellent facilities close at hand. However, when you do visit Mallorca don’t forget it’s not just the resorts that are beautiful but you should move out and look around some of the most exotic places on earth you must experience these 5 greatest destinations when you are in Mallorca.

Palma-Soller train: Though this is not to every person’s taste however believe me this train ride is an excellent means to know more about the island. The 27.5 km journey by ‘Tren de Soller’ takes you through the lush green mountains and the valleys of the Serra de Tramuntana and beautiful landscape comprising orange and lemon orchards. Vacations in Mallorca take an entirely different aspect once you see the island from this point of view.

Soller: Tucked away in the mountains the city of Soller is full of old stone houses and inclined narrow streets that steer you around the city. Several of the homes were in possession of the districts prosperous fruit traders hundreds of years back. At the moment the town is a scenic place to travel around and enjoy the environment. Soller has grown to be increasingly popular with tourists and there are a lot of options as soon as it comes to self-catering hotels in Mallorca.

Arta: The city of Arta is to be found on one of Mallorca’s steepest hills and is abode to perhaps the most important Mallorcan place of pilgrimage. There are a few excellent places to see the city from top. Even if the city is not relatively as vivid as its surroundings, the holy place is the most important motivation to stopover at the city. Travel around to the Santuari de Sant Salvador for a meaningful look at this shrine.

Deia: Situated on the west of Mallorca is exactly midway between Valldemossa and Soller cities, Deia is a gorgeous old village of stone houses that is located on a fabulous mountain surroundings. The soaring Puig d’es Teix Mountain which stands at 1062m meets the shoreline at this point and during nighttime the moonlight brings this delightful city alive. The mountainous road running along the coastline is just incredible for driving. Although holiday villas or hotel rooms in this region of Mallorca can be somewhat costly however if you look around you might find one at a reasonable rates.

Monestir de Lluc: Holidays in Mallorca are not considered complete without a tour to the Monestir de Lluc or Monastery of Our Lady of Lluc which is located in the secluded valley 35km north east of Soller. This has been Mallorca’s major shrine ever since the 13th century. The statue of the Virgin of Lluc is engraved in decorated sandstone. In the beginning of the 20th century the entire church was festooned in the similar Baroque fashion like the chancel, designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaud
