If amusement parks are not your thing do not worry Florida has many other family friendly spots. If you are looking for a beach getaway you might want to check out the Daytona Beach area. Daytona Beach swells with college students on spring break in March, but during those winter months it is the perfect spot for families and couples looking for a nice day on the sand. Additionally, since you will be traveling prior to their peak spring break season you can expect to find some affordable lodging options.
For couples interested in a hot winter getaway you must check out Miami. Miami has a spice, sophistication, and sexiness that has become legendary. The Miami Beach area is a great place to stay for beautiful beachfronts, delicious restaurants, sleek hotels, and fabulous shopping. If you are looking for heat then the Miami Beach area will certainly deliver.
If you are looking for a more relaxing and laid back romantic getaway you might want to check out the Sanibel Island area. Sanibel Island is a picturesque location that features quaint boutiques, authentic local cuisine, artistic exposure, and gorgeous wildlife. Here you can either spend a day on the beach or you can ride a bicycle throughout the island shopping for souvenirs and taking in the local culture.
The Tampa Bay area is a bit more of an urban escape to the warmth. Here you will be surrounded by the busy thoroughfare of Tampa which features beautiful shopping malls, lots of restaurant choices, and high rise hotels. That being said, Tampa Bay is not without its quieter spots. The beaches may be busy with boats, but as you walk down the sand the cities noise fades away into the gentle breaking of the waves on the sand.
